Laser Engraving

The purchase of an Epilog Laser Engraver has brought a new dimension to my work. This machine can engrave or etch on just about anything (wood, glass, metal, bone...)  and is very versatile. Maximum size is 12 x 24 inches. Below are some samples of things I have done recently. Clicking on the pictures will give you a larger view. I hope they give you ideas for your next project!

This is a sign I made for my Dad as a Father's Day present. It is engraved in a plaque that resembles gray granite and has a black border.

I made plaques for my cousin who coaches his son's baseball team in Waukesha, Wisconsin. (He's a Packer fan [cheesehead], but otherwise pretty normal...)

A good example of the quality that can be achieved on my machine. This was done from a photograph at 300 dpi and is 12 inches wide.

Here is a sample of etching on glass. This small glass box has a design area of under 2 inches.

Another good example of the detail this machine is capable of. The belly on the frog is about a 5% yellow color so I put some walnut stain on it just to be sure it showed up.

As evidenced by my logo I love hummingbirds so I had to include this sample...
